Some "Fall" in the Sitting Room

Hey everyone!  I hope you've been having a great first week of October.  We've been having some nice cool mornings and evenings, and it has been so nice sitting on the patio with a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the late afternoon.  Ahhh, I'm starting to remember why we put up with "*&%#" summer!  Well, y'all know I've been decorated for Fall for quite some time now and have been gradually sharing my rooms.  Today I'm ready to invite you into our sitting room.

Abby is here to greet you!

Taken at dusk but still a lot of light coming in those windows.

This is one of two new patchwork pillows I made.

Changing pillows makes so much difference.

The quilted piece I made a few years ago, is a wallhanging, but I'm really liking it draped over the coffee table.  This arrangement is sitting in my old dough bowl.  The pillows you see in the background are the ones I traded for the colorful ones.

I thought I'd show you these two patchwork pillows side by side.  I made them out of fabric sample books that I got for free.  I made all of my other pillows, too.

Entertainment cabinet turned liquor cabinet.  Some day I'll show you the inside.

It's a bit awkward to decorate, but I usually figure out something that I like.

On the top is my old tri-fold fireplace screen that has wire holders for votive candles.  I used those to perch a few pumpkins & hydrangeas on with just a dot of hot glue to keep them in place.  And, who doesn't like a burlap bow?

I made the burlap "rag" wreath several years ago before burlap was even popular!

Ummm, yes, I enjoy my wine!  Perched behind the wine server are a couple of small books that I wrapped in scrunched craft paper and simply wrapped with twine & added leaves and beads.

Don't you just love all the downloadable chalkboard messages?  They look so realistic!

This is a favorite little spot to have a collection of framed grandchildren photos!

I love layering things!

Wow, I think this is probably the least wordy I've ever been in a post!  You should all be doing the "happy dance," but don't get used to it -- I like to talk!  I hope you enjoyed the tour of our sitting room. Please know you are always welcome in my home any time!

  10. I continue to enjoy reading each 'fall' update. This time, I think my favorite piece is your candle holder on top of your liquor cabinet. The white shabby chic looking one - my FAV. :)
