Pt.4 - The Scrapping Zone!

Hey everyone!  I am so excited to share this part of my craft room -- where I scrapbook & make cards.  Those are probably my favorite things to do which is why I am excited to show y'all.  Before we begin, you can see Pt.1 HERE, Pt.2 HERE, & Pt.3 HERE.  Let's get started with Pt.4, shall we?

When I'm sitting at my computer desk, looking straight ahead, this is what I see ......

Pt.3-And Sew it Goes!

Hey everyone!  Okay, this is kind of a lame blog title, and it encompasses more than just my sewing area......like much more general organization and storage of my everyday supplies.  I just couldn't come up with a great title, so I guess we are stuck with this one.  Can you even stand to see more of this room?  I hope so, especially if you are dealing with your own small tiny crafting space, because I have been able to pack a ton of stuff much needed supplies into my space.  Oh, and heaven forbid you might have missed Pt.1 & Pt. 2, but you can find them HERE & HERE!  So power-up and join me in Pt.3 of my Craftroom Tour.
Looking straight ahead as you enter my room, are nine of those Recollections storage cubes from Michael's.  These are on sale a lot and are available in so many different styles.  I've had most of mine   (a total of twelve) for awhile now and they are quite sturdy.

Just Because!

"Are we having company?"  These were the first words out of The Man's mouth when he arrived home a short time ago after a full day of running around.  "No, we aren't having company," to which he responded with a big sigh of relief.....!  Let me see, how many times have I invited friends or family over without discussing it with him first?  Hmmm......let me count -- okay, that would be never!  It just so happened that I was in a bit of a puttering mood and decided to do a quick and simple tablescape on the breakfast table.

Guess you might understand why The Man thought we were having company.  I typically just set it up for the two of us, but I was in a "daring" mood!

I started with the wicker placemats and thought it would be fun and lighten things up if I added the silver chargers.  I like the contrast.

Aren't these napkin rings just adorable?  I've had them for awhile -- on sale purchase at World Market.  Why, oh, why did I only get four......:(

I still like the little wooden tote for a simple centerpiece.

Napkin rings -- 2 spoons & 2 forks -- LOVE!

I changed this tiered basket just a bit since Easter.

I removed all the very Eastery things, but decided to keep the brown eggs and the blue eggs in the nest.  I also added 2 fun cookbooks for the colors.

Okay, I'm happy now.  Tweaking and puttering keeps me sane.... or not.
Some days it's very questionable......lol!  Thanks so much, dear friends for stopping by.  Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!

Coming Clean in the Craftroom Closet

Hey everyone!  Are you ready for Part 2 of my Craftroom Redo?  If by chance you missed it, Pt. 1 is HERE.  Once again, get yourself some food and drink for sustenance.  I simply cannot do posts that are not filled with photos -- I know, it's kind of a sickness.  My reasoning excuse is that I just love looking at other bloggers photos of whatever they are sharing, so I feel it is my duty to provide lots of pics for y'all so you can see all the details.  Just sayin'......lol!  Today, we will be going into the "craftroom closet."  Yay, doesn't that sound like fun?  Okay, don't answer that!  I'm nothing if not all about sharing, so come on in, and we will get started!

There is a lot going on behind these closed doors.

Happy Easter!

 Happy Easter Everyone!

Are You Kidding Me?

Hey everyone!  I'm so excited to be sharing "non-medical" related posts again, but you may think I've lost my mind when you see that I am once again sharing my craftroom.  But I kid you not, I did a major-redo.  Over the last couple of weeks when I was nervous and anxious about tests I was having done and then waiting for the results, I completely immersed myself in revamping my "Momma Cave."  When I'm stressed and anxious about something, I typically clean and organize.  I watched tons of YouTube videos about rooms and spaces dedicated to crafting, sewing & scrapbooking and came to the conclusion that I did not have my space set up for the way I do all those things.  In other areas of our home, I like things very orderly and fairly uncluttered, but that concept was not working for me in my Momma Cave.  For me to be truly creative, I need lots of visual stimulation.  I need the things that I use most often, to be very close at hand and for my tools and supplies to be part of the room's decor.  Does that make sense?  Lots of crafters have these fabulous (and very large spaces) rooms with lots of storage behind closed doors.  Some of these rooms are gorgeous and give me a little twinge;  but when I perused my own space, I realized the areas that always made me smile were the areas where everything was visible and colorful.  Coming to that conclusion freed me to make some major changes, and I would love to share.  Considering that I took just shy of 250 snaps of my new redo, I will be spreading this out over several posts.  I won't kid you, though; each post will be photo-heavy (VERY), so you will need food and drink.....lol!

TMI For Sure!

Hey everyone!  This will be very short, because I'm under the influence of drugs.....lol!  Several of you have been so sweet to wish me well and say little prayers, so I just wanted to report that it is all good news.  I've been having tummy issues for about a month, and discussed it with my Gastro-Guy when I went in for my pre-Colonoscopy exam.  He decided to do an endoscopy at the same time as the colon peek-a-boo.

Good news is that the "far end" is fine, and the endo revealed gastritis and possibly a stomach infection which can be handled with meds.  I was one very nervous lady but am feeling very grateful and very tired.  All those who say the "SUPREP" for the colonoscopy is the worst part of it, are absolutely right!

I am a real Nervous Nellie when it comes to doctors and medical procedures.  My way of dealing with stressful or emotional situations is to clean or organize or both, which is exactly what I did all last week.  I revamped my ....wait for it.... craft room!  Bet you are totally shocked about that, right?  Another shocker -- I will be sharing a post about it very soon, because I need a filler until we get the master closet finished.  You just can't wait for that, can you?

Anyway, once again, I give a heartfelt "Thank You" to all my sweet bloggy friends.  I just love y'all!  I hope I haven't grossed you out with "too much info" -- TMI!  Hope you are all having a great week.  I plan on having a super-week!

Sometimes You Just Have to Share Some Personal Stuff.

Hey everyone!  I haven't been doing too much blogging recently.  One reason being that we are still working on our closet DIY, but the other is more personal.  I seem to be spending quite a bit of time in doctors' offices -- UGH!  One of my issues has been an "out-of-whack" thyroid.  I've dealt with hypothyroidism for many years, but recently it went kind of haywire and the doctor found 2 large nodules.  I had 4 biopsies in each one last week and found out today that there is NO CANCER!  I was pretty much doing the "happy dance" in her office!  Now I just have to try to get my Synthroid dosage regulated.  I'm having a couple of other procedures done early next week, but I won't bore you with the details of those.  Just wish me luck!
And because all of the above is just too Ugh-ish, I thought I'd share some backyard pretties.
I did show this geranium a few weeks ago, but it has almost doubled in size!

The ugly little foot is there just to give you a size perspective -- it's HUGE!  That would be the geranium that's HUGE, not the foot....lol!

I don't know what these are called, but they barely survived the last couple of months of last summer's heat and have bounced back in such a lovely way.

The herb pot is just beautiful and so fragrant!

I also shared this pot of pretties a few weeks ago, but it has more than doubled in size.  This one just makes me smile.

We are really enjoying our Spring weather and the beautiful plants and flowers.  Our temps are gradually increasing and we are soon to be in the 90's.  Oh well, that's life in the AZ desert -- gotta take the bad with the good!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

A Bit to Share!

Hey everyone!  Between doctors' appointments and our DIY project, I have no time to do a regular post this week; but I do have a couple of little things to share.  We were just over in Phoenix this morning getting some supplies from a cabinet accessories store.  Now I don't always go along on these little jaunts, but The Man asked so sweetly if I would like to go, how could I refuse?  Going someplace like that in the morning usually means we will do lunch out somewhere -- YAY!  We have a favorite little restaurant we like in Tempe called Mac's and just a few doors down is a cute little consignment shop called Turnstyle Tempe.  I've only been in the store one other time and didn't find anything, but not true today!
Just look at this little sweetie!
Would you believe she was only $14 minus a 20% special discount.........TOTAL $12.13 out the door!

She is sitting on her little nest with two more eggs in the back and one little chick peeking out.  It was love at first sight -- can you see all that beautiful turquoise color?  Oh yes, she is perfect!  This is as close to "hens, eggs and chicks" as I want to get!  My hat is off to those who are raising hens and gathering eggs.  I got my fill of that when I was a tween, so I am very happy to stick to the ceramic ones now!  But, seriously, isn't she just adorable?  I'll share in another post where she will be nesting.

This was my other purchase -- same price, same discount for a great patio clock!  It is heavy and
in perfect condition.

Great morning -- filled my tummy and got some retail therapy along the way!  It's a glorious day here in the "Valley of the Sun," and I hope it's a beautiful day for all of you!
