Deliciously Easy Chili

Chili

2 lbs. ground turkey (you can use beef if you wish)
1 lrg. onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 16oz. cans tomatoes, cut up
1 16oz. can black beans (you can use red kidney beans), drained & rinsed
1 1/2 cups tomato juice
1 4oz. can green chili peppers, rinsed, seeded & chopped (may be omitted without affecting taste)
2 T. Worcestershire sauce
1 T. paprika
2 t. sugar
2 t. salt, or more to taste
2 to 3 t. dried oregano, crushed
1 t. ground cumin
1/2 t. celery salt
1/2 t. cayenne (more or less to taste)
1/2 t. pepper (more or less to taste)
1/4 t. dry mustard
2 cups water

Cook ground turkey (or beef), onions, & garlic until meat is browned.  Drain off fat.  Add meat mixture & all the rest of ingredients to a slow cooker & allow to cook at least 4 hours on medium heat or all day on low heat.  Makes 8 to 12 servings.

I like to put this into the slow cooker in the morning, set it on a low heat, & allow it to cook all day.  The aroma is wonderful.  I like to serve this with cornbread & grate some cheese over the top of each serving.  If you don't have a large family, this chili freezes very well.
