Just some randomness.

Hey all.  I thought I'd just share some random "putterings" & thoughts with you today.  But, first I have a question for all of the seasoned bloggers out there.  I love meeting and following  all the wonderful bloggers, but I'm having trouble staying on top of actually following them & doing my "thank you's" to new followers to my blog.  Any suggestions?

Okay, on to the randomness.  I know this won't mean much to a great many of you and will probably sound like "whining" on my part, but we've had an Arctic blast!  The following pics are of our backyard fountain at noon on Thursday the 3rd.  I know what a lot of you are saying, that this is nothing compared to what's going on in so many parts of the country.  I hear you, but really people, we are in the AZ desert!  This is the land where no one owns heavy coats, so this was a shocker!  I was wearing 3 long-sleeve knit tops -- well, until I had a hot flash, that is!

Abby didn't even want to get out of her little bed.  We had to put extra padding under her bed to get it off the tile so she would stay warmer.

It's almost like a Kiva oven once she gets it warm with her fuzzy little body.  I tried putting my tootsies in there, but she didn't think too much of that idea.

Thursday was my b-day and my sweet neighbor gave me this decorative, glass piece.  She got it from Pier 1, can you tell?  I just love the colors & had to quickly find a spot to display it.

The old singer seemed like a good fit.  This was what I had here first.

I removed the flowers and added my b-day piece.  The colors are certainly perfect for this room.

The other items were either already here or I took them from other vignettes around my home.  I took the ivy topiary from The Man's side table (believe me, he didn't care) & the candle stick and candle came right out of my decor closet.  I like this look.

Have ya'll ever seen one of these?  It's called a "Pouchee" & it's a purse organizer.  I first heard about them at Toni's "A Bowl Full of Lemons" and knew I needed one.  I love to change purses a lot and this makes it so much easier.  It takes the place of my wallet, coupon holder, & a small cosmetic bag.  As you can see, it has card slots on one side, along with a pocket for the cell.

The other side also has 2 pockets that you could use for sunglasses, IPhone, IPod, etc.  They come in numerous colors & fabrics.  The metal rings make it easy to grasp from the depths of my purse.  It also has a very strong snap closure.

Then it opens up and expands to hold numerous items inside.  There is a zippered compartment that I use for change, a section for paper money, another section that I use for coupons, & then a large area for all the misc. stuff that always ended up in the very bottom of my purse.   I would even feel comfortable just grabbing this when I needed to make a quick run to the store.

It fits beautifully in most of my purses.  I'm not getting paid by anyone for an endorsement, but if you want to take a look at these handy-dandy "Pouchees", you can find them Here.

Last, but certainly not least, I just want to shout out a big "THANK YOU"  to Debbie at DebbieDoos for hosting the "Newbie Party" which has been such an awesome experience.  I've been blogging since late Sept. '10 which meant I was considered a newbie, and I also had less than 100 followers.  I gained about 20 new followers and found so many wonderful blogs.  There is so much talent out in blogland with so many kind-hearted blog-sisters (are there any men doing this blog-thing?) willing to share those talents.  If you have become a follower of my blog and I missed thanking you, I sincerely apologize.  I'm really trying to be a good blog "responder", so please know that I do appreciate all of you so much.  Thank you for stopping by and please come again soon.

  19. Hi CAS!
First , let we say "thank you" for stopping by my blog and becoming a follower. I LOVE Arizona! I was born there and try to visit there every 3 or 4 years.
Living where I do, yes, I would say you are whining, BUT, if I lived where you do, I would probably do the same. Living in Yuma, you are suppose to be able to enjoy warm weather 365 days a year. I'm sure it will soon be warm.
Also, I am your newest follower.
    Hope it is warmer today!
