The "Man Cave" --Ta Da Ta Da!

Hey everyone!  I hope you are off to a great week.  I'm busy working on my Christmas decorating but nothing to reveal yet.  So today I want to share The Man Cave with you.  It was a work-in-progress project for awhile, but finally got finished late summer.  Fair warning, picture overload -- as usual!

Plain white (well, dirty white) walls -- YUK!  The carpeting isn't dirty (the lighting is bad) & was in very good condition, but The Man just didn't want it, knowing that he would be walking in and out of his shop which is right next door.

Out came the carpet and paint went on the walls.  The upper part is an Olympic custom color that doesn't have a name -- sorry!  It's kind of a deep, rich, warm beige -- I think that about covers it!

Here The Man got creative and did picture-frame molding wainscoting.

So this is the view coming into the room, complete with tall baseboards & crown molding.

Yep!

The horizontal file was a Craigs List find for $40 (I think....hmmm?)  The Man reworked it, painted it, and  added the hardware.  That's an IKEA Expedit in the corner.

The Man did all of his own decorating.

He loves his futon!  This really does make a very comfortable queen bed or a nice comfy place
for The Man to catch a little TV or a few zzzzs.

Most of these items are special to him from his youth.

I can't believe this is just about the only place you can see the wood floor -- sigh, I forgot to
take pictures of the beautiful wood floor that The Man put down.  He then found a
lovely area rug.

This is a great view.  Why, you might ask?  Because......it is NEVER this clean!  I'm printing and
framing this picture.

I framed these sweet obituaries of The Man's parents, & he mounted them in the corner
right next to his desk.

The Man and his parents -- those sweet people are no longer with us.

A momento from a carwash business that we owned many years ago in Oregon.
We sold it and moved to Arizona.

The Man created a picture gallery, and I don't think he even knows what a
picture gallery is.....lol!

'33 Ford -- when The Man bought this, it was a sad piece of rustiness.  He restored it when
he was in high school.

'64 Sting Ray -- this was pristine when we bought it.

And that's a "wrap!"

Hope you enjoyed The Man Cave reveal.  He did such a wonderful job on this room.  Thank
you so much for stopping by.

  1. The Man's Cave is something to envy. I love it speaking as a member of the female populace. The wooden items perfectly complemented to give the place enough relaxing atmosphere of work and home. Btw, I love the floating shelf. I would love to consider it as my peg for my own shelf too. Hope you won't mind if I use your picture for reference Carol :)

  3. Carol,
What a wonderful space. You both did such a great job in the redo, it doesn't even look like the same room. Great choice with the crown molding and picture frame molding. I bet the man never leaves that room now.

  16. WOW!! The man really jazzed his room up. I am totally impressed that he would care enough to do all of this. LOVE the picture frame molding he did. What a great job he did, now you stop picking on him about keeping it clean. The only reason I cleaned hubby's was because it has glass french doors that you have to walk by in order to get inside the house, other wise, I would have just closed the door. Please tell him that I said it looks wonderful, and he did a very impressive job!

  19. I better not show this to my husband or else he'll be requesting a room of his own to have like that! Ha! I love all of the personal momentos he used in that room. It truly reflects him, as it should.
