Are We There Yet?

Hey everyone!  Are we there yet?  Are we at "Fall," yet -- yes, no, maybe?  Well, it's kind of looking like it around here. We are still experiencing hot, hot, hot here and finally got some rain Friday evening, just not enough.  It may be hot outside, but the Fall leaves, pumpkins and gourds are popping up all over my home and receiving a standing ovation from me!  I've been working like a fiend on my Fall decor and have it almost finished.  I promise not to overwhelm you with a gazillion pics, so I'm only going to post little bits at a time.   Ha Ha -- if you believe that, I have a bridge.....lol!  I do still have some tweaking to do in several places, and nothing much has happened outside;  but heat or not, I will be getting to that soon.

So this first post is just the inside entry.  Y'all know it's one of my favorite places to decorate.  I have to make a disclaimer right up front about one of the key elements in my entry decor.

This sweet family tree you see on my entry table is a total copycat from Becca @ Adventures in Decorating.  I just love that girl!  She has great style and a wonderful sense of humor;  but she is all about family, which is why she created her Fall Family Tree and why I simply had to create one, too!  Thanks, Becca, for so much inspiration.

I printed a bunch of more recent family pics onto off-white card stock, using sepia-tone.  I tied them onto the lighted branches (already had), along with some meaningful words printed on craft paper cut into a tag shape and attached randomly with little clothespins.  I also added some plain sticks and attached faux leaves all over.

I pass by this display a hundred times a day, and it always makes me smile.

My most favorite people in the entire world!

My faux candles automatically come on at 5PM and shut off at 10PM -- love that!

I seem to have had an abundance of loose faux leaves in my floral bin and kind of went crazy adding them to just about every faux candle I have.  I love the added dimension and the extra glow when the candles are turned on.

I love this mercury glass pumpkin that I picked up from Ross or Marshalls last year.
It has an led light inside.

Do you see the foliage hanging on the wall to the right?

I moved the metal wall urn/sconce from our bedroom and did a little switcheroo with a painting that used to hang here.  I already had the Fallish colored foliage and the pumpkin, but I'm not quite finished with this wall yet.

The plant shelf in the entry always gets "seasonal" decor, and the birdcage has one of my faux-timer candles.  This spot is really difficult to get a picture of unless I take it from the ladder -- sorry Peeps, just didn't want to climb the ladder again!

And just to keep things real, this is my guest room or "Fall Central!"  I tried to keep everything in the garage but was so limited on how much time I could work out there because of the heat.  This will all get cleaned up today!

So how are y'all doing on your Fall decorating?  It's probably too early for some of you, but this is my very favorite season, and it cannot go up too early for me.  I'm so excited to start seeing "Fall" pop up all over blogland!  Thanks so much for stopping by and putting up with my craziness!

  6. It's beginning to look a lot like Fall at your home! This HOT weather just doesn't seem to wanna give up. I know it will get here but I'm not being very patient. Spent a couple of days in Flagstaff and I didn't want to come back home till it cools off. At least my home was safe when I got back. Love all of your decorating. So beautiful.

  7. I love it!!! Everything looks just beautiful. I especially liked the family tree on your entry table; it's very inviting. I'm just starting to put my fall pieces up so my garage looks like a tornado blew threw. I like to put the fall stuff up as early as possible so I can enjoy it that much longer. Keep the posts coming and have a fun time decorating even if it is hot out there. Blessings, Dani

  16. Oh I love decorating for fall. I have started as well. Picked up my burnt orange mums for the front of the house and hung my fall wreath. Put out a few faux pumpkins and faux mums around the house. Now I'm off to see if the small bales of straw are in yet.
Love decorating the front the house. Cute entrance and I love the faux leaves on the candles. Those candles are great. I have them going from 5 to 10 as well.
    Happy fall!!
