Don't Throw It Away!

Hey everyone!  Well, I affirmed my reasoning for not throwing stuff away.  I created this cute wreath for absolutely "Zero Dollars" by using just a bunch of leftover "stuff" from my Fall decorating.  I didn't have a wreath form, but I got this idea for making a cardboard wreath form from Amanda @ Serenity Now.  I not only love "FREE," but I also love using and recycling what I already have, so let me show you how it turned out.  Then I'll show you how it went together.

Isn't it cute and just perfect for above the kitchen sink!

I didn't have a wreath form, but I did do have cardboard -- well, doesn't everyone?  I used a large bowl and a small bowl to draw my rings & then cut them with a box cutter.  I also had several pieces of shorter lengths of burlap -- I mean, you can't throw those away!

I simply wrapped the pieces of burlap around my form, gluing it in place.  

After all my Fall decorating, this bag of stuff is what I had left over -- a few flowers (some with stems, some without), odds and ends of leaves, & an odd assortment of nuts & other ephemera from some potpourri from years gone by.

I had a nice uneven number of those larger orange sunflowers, so I placed them on first.  Then I just started gluing things on in a random manner and tucking any leftover leaves here and there.  I finished off with a big burlap bow that hides the twine I used to attach the wreath to my shutter.

It's very light-weight because of using the cardboard for the wreath form -- won't harm the 

shutters at all.

I love it!  It's pretty, free, and used up "stuff" that I had almost thrown away.  Thanks, Amanda, for the idea of the cardboard wreath form.  You truly set the wheels in motion on this little project!
