I Finished A Project!

Hey everyone.  I hope everyone had a great day and maybe now you are having a great evening.  I'm hoping I can get this posted before I have to start our dinner, but doing this never goes quite as quickly as I think it should.  I gave a little tease this morning about what I've been working on, & now I'm finished & can share this project.  As most of you already know, I love to make greeting cards.  I keep thinking that practice will make me better & faster at it, but still waitin' for that to happen.  Regardless of how long it takes or the fact that some are a bit rough around the edges, the people I share them with love me and are always happy to get a handmade card.  That's all that matters to me.  Okay, this is one of those where I probably over-did it on the photos, but I was havin' fun.  Feel free to scroll through them really fast if you get bored.  LOL!!!

This was my "tease" this morning.  Got everything at Michael's, on sale or with a coupon.

Foam stickers -- too cute!

Aren't these cute?  The bunny was less than $3 & the egg stamp was about $5 with a coupon.

I just had to have this little stamp & it was in the $1 bin.  Woo-hoo!  This one will find its way onto a birthday card at some point.

I bought a couple of sheets of this paper because it looks like basket -weave.

I started off just stamping a bunch of both these shapes in black outline.  I did quite a few, because I wasn't sure exactly what I was going to do & how many I would need.  Lots of times my cards just evolve when I start pulling papers & stamps together.

My "TV-watching" activity that night was coloring.  Have you colored lately?  I always loved to color & I still do.  Only now, rather than crayons, I use my Stampin'Up pens.

I thought everything needed a little something more -- something sparkly!

This is really great stuff & super-easy to use.

After cutting everything, I realized the bunnies whiskers were gone (or mostly), so I cut short pieces of embroidery floss & glued them on.

These cards are for my grandchildren.  As a rule, when I figure out a good design, I just duplicate the heck out it.  That doesn't bother me one bit.  There is always some little something different, but basically the same.  The inside verse or poem are different for each child.

I used a lot of the little foam cut-out cuties for the youngest ones in our brood.

The little sparkly eggs needed grass to hide in, so I cut some strips of green paper & made grass.

I added one of the cute little bunnies to the inside of each card mounted on a sticky pad.

For some of the adult family members, I try to make more sophisticated cards.  I discovered these card-size mat-stacks a couple of years ago.  They are always on sale (usually at Joanne's here) & the color/pattern combos are so pretty.  I always choose the cardstock variety & love the quality
of these papers.

This is one of my favs because I love the black & cream combinations, plus there are a bunch of embossed papers in the mix.

This is one of the embossed sheets.  This stuff makes the neatest cards.

Another fav because there are lots of sparkly pages.

Decided to design baskets for these cards.  I love this coppery-looking paper.

These are for a couple of older (older than me!) friends of mine.  They love it when I add
glitzy stuff & flowers.

I have lots of glitz!

And lots flowers.

I like adding something really simple to the inside, like coordinating corners.

Some different versions of the basket.

I like it!

Well, I really enjoyed sharing one of my favorite "scrappy crafts" with you.  If in all these pics, I missed sharing something, just ask away.  I'm happy to share anything about the products I use--how I use them, how I organize them, where I store them, etc.
I'm so glad you stopped by & please come again soon.

  7. I am SO impressed!

I didn't get the crafting gene so I am always so fascinated by the amazing things that people, such as yourself, are able to create.

Anything handmade trumps store bought any day!

And I want to thank you again for the post that you did with the linky parties listed by day. I bookmarked it and refer to it every week. So, a BIG heartfelt thank you!

  11. Congratulations Cas,
On your giveaway win, how exciting and fun!! what a sweet blessing to
come from not 1 but 2 of your first blogger friends. Can't wait to see
    what you decide on.

Love love love your cute cards, what a great job! I know everyone is gonna love them. I make my own cards too via the computer, but I design them myself, and it is a lot of work, fun work tho, and love doing it too!! It is amazing the longer time goes on the better your cards get, but it like you say it doesn't seem to get quicker, course, with mine I can reuse them and change the words or the occasion and reprint them, so that makes it faster at times. Sooooo enjoyed seeing your lovely cards and handiwork. All very creative.

Wanted to thank you so much for your encouraging words yesterday,
that was such a blessing. I have to
tell you doing that Thankful Thursday post for almost 2 years now has really changed my life so much for the better! I have always been fairly positive, but having to list them every week, and not wanting to be repetitious has made me dig deep to come up with what I am thankful for, and it has been an amazing transformation in my thinking, I have to say I rarely see the bad things anymore, and it has made me feel more loved by the Lord as I see how much he has blessed us.

Since you are packing does that mean you have an offer on your house now?? Thought maybe I missed that announcement or something.

You have a Wonderful Weekend sweetie,
    Blessings, Nellie
