.........And Let There Be NEW Light!

Hey everyone!  Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, but we've been getting lots of things done around our "Home Sweet Home."  It hasn't been all work and no play;  we've tried to pace ourselves between projects around here, continuing to explore the many wonderful things our new home town has to offer, & getting in some family time, too.  Anyway, what I wanted to share today is some new lighting that The Man installed.  When I shared my china hutch with you last week, I tried to be careful not to get the light fixture in any of the shots because it looked pretty bad.  It was also located in entirely the wrong position for our needs & had been hooked all the way up to the ceiling.

It's not that it's a really bad "chandy", but it isn't what we want in this space.  With some updating (& matching globes), this will find a new home -- to be shared later.

We looked all over for lighting that we liked & finally found it.  We didn't want a bunch of crystals & frills.  It has an oil-rubbed finish and looks so great with our dark pine furniture.

I am so lucky to be married to just the sweetest and very talented man.  He can do just about any wiring, plumbing, drywall, painting, etc. that I happen to add to the "Honey Do List!"

Almost finished.......

TA-DA!

I just love it!

I truly don't know what the builder was thinking when he positioned the box for the dining room fixture, but he messed up big-time.  Thank goodness for decorative chain and the ability to "swag!"

I think it looks so cozy & is so perfect with our decor.

Well, I can't tell you how happy and excited I was to get this project finished.  My enthusiasm must have been just what The Man needed, because he immediately started in doing another lighting project -- the entry.  There was only the canned light in our foyer, so we found a fixture that works really well with the dining room fixture.
This is what it looked like before.

Love this fixture and how the light plays off the walls & ceiling.

Isn't this cool?

With the light off.  This space is so cozy and inviting now.

With the completion of these two fixture redos, I am just about ready to share a tour of the rest of the entry hallway, the sitting room & dining room.  That should be happening next week.  Bet you can't wait, right?  Anyhoo, thanks for stopping by and please come again soon.
