Some Fall is Happening in My Dining Room!

Hey everyone.  I thought today I would give you a few glimpses into my new Fall dining room, but first I want to share a fun & very generous Give-Away from Kathy @ A Tiny Cottage.  She is celebrating her blog reaching 100 followers, so go over & check it out.  She has such a charming home!

Now on to my dining room Fall decor.  First I wanted to share how the dining room & china hutch looked in our previous house.
The ceilings were only 8' in this house, so I was limited in what I could display on top of the hutch.

We enjoyed this dining room, but it was very dark.  I even added the mirrors on the back wall of the china hutch to bring some reflective light.

Then the dining room looked like this just a month ago.  Poor sad china hutch was stuck way back in the corner & surrounded with boxes, chairs, etc.

In our new home, this dark pine beauty can really strut her stuff!  This hutch is in full view from our entry, so I like to have everything just right.

Only one item is new here -- the square plate in the center.  I had everything else at our previous house, but most items were in other locations.  I put a string of small Christmas lights on the top of the hutch just to add a soft glow.

This glass & metal art piece is something we bought several years ago in Sedona, AZ.  It's really pretty & shows up much better in person than in photos.

I think I would like to add a large metal piece to the wall behind these items.  Hmmm.......shopping?

Found this plate last week at Hobby Lobby.  I just love the colors!

I usually use these little birds in the Spring, but love all the greens that are going on here.

I just tucked a little berry & bead wreath behind the glass orb display to add a bit of sparkle.

I made this tapestry table runner last year.  My center piece consists of an iron candle stick (love the fleur de lis) standing in a swirly, wire bowl.  I surrounded the base with these pretty little acorns that I picked up at Kirkland's.

Knew you would want to have one last look, right?

Wow, I actually can do a fairly short & less wordy post!  Ya'll lucked out!  I feel so blessed to have so many "bloggy" friends.  I appreciate all of you so much.  Thanks so much for stopping by and please come again soon.

  3. I really like how the glass brightens up the hutch, and I agree a large piece on the wall above would make a dramatic statement. Very fall inspired and looking lovely:)

  10. Hi Cas...

I just read the sweet note that you left for me and came right over! Thank you so much for stopping by and for adding Happy To Design to your list of blog follows! Ohhh yes...I can see that we have many things in common! I'm loving your gorgeous autumn decor as well! Don't you just love how the warm colors of orange, red, and green look against the darker wood of your hutch? Simply gorgeous, my friend! I especially like your collection of greens...the pitchers, etc.!!! They would look pretty at my place...wink! Hehe! I am guessing that you have recently moved. Bet you're loving your higher ceilings! Ohhh...what I would do for higher ceilings! Hehe! Your autumn vignette on top of the hutch is sooo pretty...just love it! I also love the little basket of acorns that you found at Kirklands! My friend, you have a gorgeous home and I'm looking forward to seeing more! I am also adding your sweet blog to my list of blog follows!

It's so very nice to meet you, Cas!

  19. Hi Cas,
I have been in lurk mode, because I've been so busy with the kids getting back into school, but I have been stopping by and your home is turning out beautifully. I'm amazed at all you have done in such a short period of time. I guess it's because of how well organized you were prior to moving, it paid off, didn't it?

Anyway, your fall decorating is absolutely gorgeous, so warm and inviting. I feel like I could stop by and enjoy a cup of hot cider with you and enjoy all the fall touches you've put throughout the home, well done! XO ~Liz
