Pt.5 Oh Happy Day!

Hey everyone!  Breath deeply and sigh......this is the final post about my craft room!  Well, okay, I should maybe add, "unless I get some major hair-brained idea to make more changes down the road!"  Whew -- now I'm covered!  Once again, lots going on in this last and final area;  but before we get started, just in case you missed any of the others, they are:  HERE for Pt. 1Pt. 2Pt. 3, and Pt.4.

I made a lot of changes to this Expedit, both in the cubbies and on top.

I added my favorite "hobby-related" books -- quilting, crafting, scrapbooking & card making.  Of course, my photo albums are here as well.

These little cubbies started out as shoe cubbies way back when I actually used them for shoes in our previous house.  After that I used them in my office for business-related purposes.  After we moved to our current home, I again used the cubbies for shoes, but..........

With our "in-progress" new master closet, they were up for grabs again. Just call me a recycler!  I had to remove some of the dividers so things would fit, but I'm liking the additional spaces to store and display things.

These are my ribbon jars.

These jars are plastic, and I got them from Walmart.  I like wrapping ribbon around clothespins, but sometimes I simply drop the ribbon spool & any ribbon scraps right into the jar.

Everyone needs a jar of pompoms, right?  I also have a large jar filled with large foam
stamps in this section.

I cannot even tell you how many different places I have used these plastic drawers.  Here they hold
templates, patterns, etc. that I've downloaded off the internet, plus......
Glue dots, glue sticks, tape runners and........

A recent acquisition -- Martha Stewart glitter!  I had been wanting this 24 pack set for the longest time, but I needed to wait until I had a 50% off coupon before I could justify the purchase.  Yay, I have plenty of glitter for whatever I want to create!
Sitting beside the drawers, I have an older photo album that I designated for page protectors (inserts).

You have heard me mention that I do Project Life scrapbooking along with the regular kind, so I have lots of page protectors in different formats.  I was able to photocopy a picture from one of the Project Life boxes that shows the different configurations of the protectors.  I cut those out and glued them to some scrapbook dividers and now have all of my different protectors divided up and easy to retrieve.

I've had these nesting boxes for a long time, but this is their first appearance in my craft room.  I added some washi tape and some ink enhancements to make them fit better with my room colors.  I have some K & Co. booklets in the smallest one and......

Buttons in the biggest one.  I think I've mentioned before that I don't like my buttons divided up by color.  It feels too restrictive to me.  I would much rather dig around in this box and just see what I come up with.

The large 3-ring binder is for holding my page and card enhancements.

These are mainly stickers divided into groups like Girly, Boyish, Animals, Flora/Fauna, etc.

Another cubby has an old portable file holder with hanging file folders for alphabet & number stickers, rub-ons & Thickers.

Another of those little wooden drawers The Man made is now holding 3-D embellishments.

This is where I have my Sizzix dies, my Sidekick, Xyron, & a cute little tote in the back that holds
texture plates, embossing folders & some small Sizzex dies.

The basket on the right holds all kinds of cutting tools -- Xacto knives, Purple Cow, circle cutter, etc.  If my littlest grands come over, I just move this basket to the top of the Expedit.

In Pt.4, I shared with you where I keep my wooden stamps.  Well, this is where I have my acrylics.  I just keep them in their original packaging and simply flip through to find what I want.  I don't have a huge selection, so this works for me.

Liquid glues, Mod Podge and tapes -- all things "sticky" in one spot!

Who said I didn't have a sense of humor?

My "Stuff" box has hanging file folders holding stencils, patterns, & frame-able pages that I've either cut from a magazine or downloaded from the internet -- mostly seasonal things.

Big "SIGH!"

Bigger "SIGH"........

Next to my large Expedit is a 4-cubby Expedit, and it is the perfect place and height to hold my
Cuttlebug & Sizzex.

I don't use these scissors very often, but they are on command hooks and out-of-the-way.

Hmmm......wonder what the "C's" stand for!

This is more storage that has been kicking around since long before the move to this house.  They have been very useful for lots of things, but this is the best yet.

They hold my chipboard Alphas.  This is working so well for me -- I love it!

I found these cute little jars at Joann's one day and could not pass them up.  They are working perfectly to hold some specific sets of alphas and one holds numbers & symbols.

If you are a scrapbooker, you end up with lots of paper scraps that you just don't want to throw away. I have two of these 3-drawer units that hold my scraps.  Would have been perfect if there were 4 drawers in each, but I substituted a couple of white gift boxes to act as additional holders.

I also have a couple of ziplok bags that hold seasonal paper scraps.  This area is right behind my main working area and these containers are where I go first for paper when I just need a little something or want to use one of my punches.  I don't have a lot of scraps in each drawer because it gets used!

I love that so many of the things I use in my crafting are not only useful but also cute and colorful.  These "baby yarn bundles" are great to use on cards and scrapbook pages, but they are also super-cute in this itty bitty birdcage.

Now, please don't get upset when I tell you this is the end of the tour!  Ha ha!  Okay, you can stop doing the "happy dance" now!  Seriously, you must agree that this is a "small space that packs a punch."  I have gotten some very nice comments from y'all, and several have even said you are copying some of my ideas for your own creative spaces -- that makes me so happy!  Bless your hearts if you are among those who have stuck around for all five parts.  I am so truly blessed with sweet bloggy friends!  If you have any questions about anything from this 5-part series, just ask away, and I will definitely try to answer.  You are always welcome here.

  4. I'm so impressed with your glitter collection!! I love it! I also like how you have all things "sticky" in one spot. That actually makes a lot of sense. :) Kind of like how in my pantry I group "sticky" things together like maple syrup, honey, cooking spray, cooking oils, etc. :) Your craft room should totally be in a craft magazine. I love how colorful it is too. You've done a great job organizing it!
