Sugar Plums are Dancing

Hey everyone!  Are y'all surviving the Christmas chaos?  I don't care how hard you try, this time of year just seems to race by and leaves most of us wondering what happened.  I hope each and everyone of you can find the time to just "breathe" and "be in the moment."  After all, it is the most wonderful time of year!  Today I'm sharing a tour of my kitchen.  I spend a lot of time in this room and even more time walking past it on the way to my craft room, so I like to add lots of whimsy and color.  Grab a cup of something, and come take the tour with me.

I love having something pretty on the island.

What could be more simple than apothecary jars filled with bright, colorful ornies?

I always like to have a wreath on the pantry door and seasonal aprons hanging near by.

I have not purchased ANYTHING new for Christmas this year, but I did make
2 of these pompom snowmen.

Talk about whimsical......this little tree is about as happy as an itty-bitty tree can be!

This is the same tray I used for my Fall dishes.  The Santa cookie jar (sitting on a stack of small BHG plates from Walmart a few years ago) & the teapot were purchased from Lillian Vernon about 35 years ago.  It's just not Christmas in my kitchen until these two treasures make their appearance.

I'm just lovin' my roly-poly pompom Santas!

Some holiday stainless is close at hand for setting the table.

I decided to keep my cotton stems out for awhile and simply added red berry stems.

Coffee, tea, & hot chocolate!

If this holly-jolly little guy is waiting to hold some cookies, he will be very disappointed.
Betty Crocker is not coming here this year!

I'm lovin' my turquoise crockery pieces......a bit of greenery, red berries & ribbon make me smile!

Well, no, not really!

Above the cabinet decor got very simplified this year.

Getting up on the big ladder is becoming less appealing with each passing year!

Top of fridge......son's cookbook is a permanent item!

Well, that wraps up the kitchen tour.  I do hope you enjoyed yourself.  I have a few more spaces to share and will be doing that very soon.  Remember to be kind to yourself during this hectic and chaotic time, and just "breathe."

Oh I love your spot of Christmas cheer! So happy, festive and my very favorite are those adorable pom pom snowmen. I love snowmen, made oodles of them when I was a kid and now I collect them.
Happy Friday and thank you so much for visiting me-made me smile.

  7. Oh how pretty, Carol, as usual. Everything looks so inviting. I love the happy Christmas tree, and I love, love, love your turquoise crockery's. Of coarse, I have to comment on son's cookbook. It would be a permy in my home too, if I had a famous chef for a son. Have a very Merry Christmas, if I don't talk to you before.

  10. That is a good reminder. Now, that we're down to almost the last week before Christmas, things get more hectic. I loved taking the tour of your kitchen. You've done a great job decorating it with cheerful colors and charming accents. I once used those colors years ago and had so much fun with them. The more color the better! Your pom pom snowmen are adorable.
