Table Top Tuesday
All Things Heart & Home
Tablescape Thursday
Since I haven't started decorating for Christmas '10 yet, I thought I'd share some PB (that would be pre-blog) pics from last year. It will be interesting to see how my style & ideas will change when I do begin
this magical-mystical transformation this year.
This first pic is my dining room table last year. It was pretty simple, & I liked this look. But I'm planning something entirely different for this time around.
I love to decorate my kitchen because I'm in here so much. I don't usually change what I have displayed above the cabinets, but I do add greenery & red berries. The garden window usually gets lots of items, layered in with the Christmas cactus. I love the pops of red & green against the white cabinets.
This is a close-up of what you can see hanging above the island. These are wood cubes (The Man cut them for me) that I painted & added black & white photos. I try to make ornaments every year for the grandchildren, but these turned into ornament sets for each family, including The Man & I. They turned out really cute & everyone loved them. I left mine hanging here thru Valentine's Day.
This is my snowman collection. I add something new every year, but have been displaying it on my old singer in the entry area for several years now. I really do like it here.
Well, that's it for today. I am really getting this strong urge to go ahead & decorate for Christmas instead of waiting until after Thanksgiving. It's such an overwhelming force & pull, I'm just not sure I can resist. So, help me Obi-Wan, you are my only hope! I just love saying that! Thanks for stopping by & have a great day.
Your home is lovely and your decorations are just wonderful. Love everything. Thanks so much for linking to TTT. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteThose cubes are terrific. I think I'd like to try something like that. Unfortunately, my Man doesn't have any woodworking skills, so I'm on my own there.
ReplyDeleteHow did you attach the string to the cube?
I see you are new to blogging. I am too.
The leaf overlay (?) on your page is very pretty.
I am going to be a follower.
Happy Thanksgiving
It does look pretty. I just love decorating for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful decorations, loved those cubes, they are very unique. Great snowman vignette. Thanks for visiting.

I like your snowman collection on the old singer too. I have a snowman collection but it is usually displayed on a large shelf in my dining room...I usually leave them up into January. Gives me the snow fix I don't get in Phoenix.
ReplyDeleteHi CAS and thank you for your visit! I love your white, cheerful kitchen and those hanging photo cubes are such a great idea!
ReplyDeleteLove that you include your kitchen in the holiday decorating plan...and you are right, we do spend so much time there so why not. Thanks for your recent visit to FK. My first visit here to your wonderful site has been a delight. Hope you enjoy a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Hey! There's that sewing stand like mine! I think you may have inspired a Christmas vignette, so thanks!
ReplyDeleteHello!! Love the wooden blocks!! And I adore those sweet snow men!! I have an old Singer sewing machine too. It was my hubby's grandmother's and I have it opened and on display up in my Sewing /Craft Room.

ReplyDeleteLove your snowman display!
ReplyDeleteThe photo cubes are wonderful.
I love your photo blocks. I have a snowman collection too. What is it about us desert girls - we need to find snow somewhere! I look forward to seeing what you do for Christmas. I am no help in trying to resist. As I sit here typing this morning, I am listening to Christmas music. :)
ReplyDeleteYour photo blocks are stunning...I love them...you're getting into the holiday mood I see!!!
ReplyDeleteI never thought about decorating the kitchen except for a holiday towel or two, but you are absolutely right. With al the time we spend there it should be a place we enjoy.
ReplyDeleteIt's strange here because for one of the rare times, I'm not hosting Thanksgiving...I, too am all ready thinking about Christmas. Such fun! Thank you for sharing your charming vignettes. The family ornaments are perfection. Cherry Kay
