Hey everyone! I hope this has been a great week and you are looking forward to a wonderful weekend. From what I've been reading here and there in Blogland is that a number of you are turning your thoughts to Fall. Well, that would be me, too! I am so tired of summer and know that we have another two months of heat, probably. I usually wait until the end of August, at least, before I start decorating; so I am trying to appease myself with Pinterest browsing, sketching vignettes, and stalking the aisles of Hob Lob and Michaels. I am a very "sensory" type person, and besides the beautiful rich colors of Fall, I love the smells. That being said, I couldn't resist just a couple of things.
Found this at Ana's Linens the other day when I was shopping for pillows. It's Honeyoak & Spice -- how could I resist that.....seriously!
I purchased this little wax burner plug-in last year at Walmart & forgot to pack it away with my Fall decor. It was just staring at me in my linen closet -- truly!
And this is what is burning in that little pumpkin plug-in, and I'm so wishing y'all could smell this. It is beyond delicious!
Okay, I think I may be okay for another couple of weeks, especially if I get busy with some Fall crafts. How about y'all? Are you anxiously waiting for Fall? School has already started here which makes it feel even closer than it really is. I'd love to hear what your feelings are and what you are doing to make the transition from Summer to Fall, or maybe you aren't even thinking about it yet. Oh, how I miss sweet little Liz from Savvy Seasons; she usually got the ball rolling on every holiday!
It's so funny reading about people getting ready for fall. The coast in southern California is fogged in much of June. We really don't get out summer weather until the beginning of August. September and October are our best beach days. We are just getting into summer mode.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol! I don't blame you at all. If I wasn't so busy painting and sanding cabinets, I probably would have started putting some pumpkins out next week; they just make me smile. I sure am ready for fall. I don't like the heat at all! I'm going to give that scent a try. I usually stick to my usual Walmart scent, spiced cider. I can't wait to see what you do. And I miss Liz too. She has such a gift of making the holidays special. Have a great weekend. Blessings, Dani
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping in, Dani! I really like several of Walmart's candles and wax cubes. I do really like Spiced Cider, too!
DeleteGood luck on all of your painting. Looking forward to the reveal!
I love those smells of the fall. And, the heat continues. The cool weather can't come soon enough for me. Can't wait to see how it is all decorated for the fall/winter. Stay cool!
ReplyDeleteI hold on to summer as long as possible! til September 21, to be exact! I have had some fleeting thoughts about cozy autumn, but I am very slow to let go of summer. I watch the transition of seasons daily.
ReplyDeleteNot too soon! I can't wait for fall. My decorations always go up September 1, along with a fall candle for the kitchen. :)
ReplyDeleteI am also ready for fall ~ the smell of fall is fabulous. I also miss LIz ~ I know she has been super busy, and I cannot access her blog. Have you heard something? Is she giving up blogging?
ReplyDeleteI was wondering the same thing about Liz. I really miss drooling over her beautiful home and decorating skills. I haven't been able to access her blog for the past few months. Sad. I love your little pumpkin warmer and I love those little wax cubes that Wal Mart sells, also. My fav scents are the cinnamon based ones. I've been burning a Candleberry candle in Vanilla Cinnacrisp scent today. Yummy!
ReplyDeleteCarol, I am with you, had enough of Summer! :) I am also dreaming of Fall and cooler days and the smells, yes! I also love the smells of Fall. Actually, I already have a few Fall plug ins and sprays hiding in my cabinet. :) I also miss Liz, she was quite often my biggest inspiration. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi Carol! I'm still savoring the Summer here in the Bay Area, California. We don't get much of a Summer weather. My daughter goes back to school in a few weeks and my son a week later. We are starting to prepare for the new school year. Shopping for school needs. Getting their closets clean out. I have a project that I start and never finish. The clutter in the office. I want to provide a homework area for the kids. Away from TV and other distractions.
ReplyDeleteI have butterscotch maple cream too! I think I need to put it into my warmer right now. I usually get my Halloween/Fall stuff out around the end of September. After Halloween, I leave out the Fall stuff and just switch out the Halloween stuff for Thanksgiving decor. I've missed Liz too. Do you know why she's not blogging anymore? Hope all is well with her. She's a great inspiration. :)
ReplyDeleteOf coarse it is not too soon! Hubby and I have been outside working all morning to get the yard all spruced up for fall. He knows that is my favorite time of year, and I love for my yard to look good. I hope to be done with it by Sept 1, so that I can just enjoy it. Love those wax melts!! I burn them all of the time.
ReplyDeleteI am ready for Fall too Carol! I am jealous that it is suppose to be only 73 next week at the in laws.
ReplyDeleteI've bought some of those scents for my Scentsy. I really like some of them. I've been wondering where Liz is.
ReplyDeleteOh I would love to be looking forward to fall with its crisp air and turning leaves. Alas the fall will find me in shorts. Scents do help to make it feel like fall. :)
ReplyDeleteI just crank the air down a bit and "pretend!"
DeleteI love fall. My favorite part of fall is when we get our first frost, which usually wilts the pumpkin leaves. Out pops all these pumpkins that we never saw growing! Always a fun moment!
ReplyDeleteI don't want to wish time away, but I am looking forward to cooler weather-not cold weather-just cooler! I love everything about fall-the colors and smells too.
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful blog which we all enjoy. Concerning Liz from Savvy Seasons, we all do miss her wonderful talent that she so graciously shared. Hopefully, at some point soon she will reopen her blog. Until then we will wish her all the best.
