Hey everyone! A little party took place at my home last night, and it was truly a wonderful experience. I belong to a women's group here in our neighborhood, and we meet once a month just for fellowship and what we loosely refer to as a "meeting." The meeting part is usually just to plan an activity or an outing, but the fellowship-part is our main focus -- well, seriously, that's the fun-part! Normally, we meet at The Ranch House (one of our club houses), but I invited everyone to my home this month, and that took place last night. I just thought I'd share a glimpse around just before everyone got here.
Everything was aglow to light the path to the front door.
Inside, lamps and candlelight gave a soft, warm welcome. Do you see Abby over on the leather chair? She was so brave until the door bell rang the first time.....lol!
The island ended up being covered with all kinds of goodies that many of the ladies brought to share.
I made a trip to Trader Joe's earlier in the week to buy flowers -- TJ's is my "go-to" place for the best flowers. I am never disappointed. Of course, I also picked up a few bottles of wine while I
was there -- they never disappoint in the wine department either.....lol!
I set up a beverage station on the kitchen buffet. I served hot and cold spiced cider and had hot water for tea.
I used some mini-chalkboards to label the various servers.
I had been dying to try THIS RECIPE from Mostly Homemade and thought making these Pumpkin Cheesecake Brownies for a crowd was a good idea. Kelly had much cuter sprinkles than I did, but it absolutely did not affect the taste whatsoever!
Lots of comfy places to sit and......
Things to look at.
A few of the ladies wandered into the dining room and sitting area
and enjoyed the gathering of Pilgrims and friendly Indians.
Turkeys were trying to remain incognito!
A few more turkeys were hanging out on the china cupboard.
These are the result of all that Friendship Bread I was working on and shared in my last post.
You can read about it HERE.
I wrapped them in Saran & tied them up in a couple of thicknesses of coffee filters, added a cute label and sent one home with each of the ladies. It was my "harvest gift" to each them.
I almost always get wrapped up in visiting and playing hostess, so I rarely take pictures during an event. Last night was no exception. I also respect my friends' privacy and know that not everyone wants to be seen across blogland. You will just have to take my word for it that a good
time was had by all, especially me!
Thanks so much for stopping by. You are always welcome here.
How fun!! Your home looks so warm and cozy. I was big into the friendship bread in the 90s and gave it up due to the low-carb craze. I just came across my original recipe which is the same one you have. I am going to give it a go again. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a lovely party! Your house is so pretty. I love everything about it. I really like the windows in your living room. I love to throw a party but these days it's mostly kids' parties. I look forward to having more time for "grown-up" parties again someday. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat fun ... a sharing your Friendship Bread was very special. Your house is lovely and comfortable.

ReplyDeleteEverything looks wonderful, Carol! Are those your turquoise throws from Kirklands I see? Don't you love how soft they are? I also love your idea of wrapping the breads in coffee filters...so smart!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by!!
