Hey everyone! Isn't it hard to believe that Thanksgiving has already passed and now there is only one more day until December 1st? About a week ago, I wasn't even sure I would ever get around to putting a Christmas decor post together, but "Snail's Pace Me" finally did get finished, and I'm so excited to share our Christmas Home 2015 with all of you! I'm definitely not going to show you everything all at once.....I need naps, people, and so would you if I tried sharing a gazillion photos all at one time! We will just take it slow and easy, and I'll start with the foyer and dining room. Why don't you just indulge yourself (and me), grab a warm beverage and a cookie, kick back and relax while I share what I've been up to!
As I share over the next few weeks, you will quickly realize that I am NOT a "minimalist," NOT a
"less-is-more" person, NOR am I a "let's keep it neutral with just a splash of color" kind of person.
I LOVE color!
You will also see that my "style" is ECLECTIC, in every sense of the word.
I have Christmas treasures that are as old as this little guy looks, and I'm still using them!
I just cannot bring myself to go for many of the "trends" and buy all new decorations every year.
I loved this vignette throughout the Fall, so I just tweaked it a bit and now will love it
throughout Christmas.
Something I tried for fun a few weeks ago, was printing a few FREE printables on vellum & used them to cover some of my battery-operated candles.....I love how they turned out!
I love how the top of the china cabinet turned out.....both in the daytime and
At night!
A couple of weeks ago I took an old twiggy thing that I had already painted white, added some small snow-covered pinecones (I used spray snow), and now I have a "white twiggy-thing with pinecones"......sorry, just what would you call it? LOL
Are you wondering just how many pics of bowls of ornies I might need.....well, apparently
quite a few, but I'm done now.....sigh!
A bit of glitz and glam never hurts!
Well, how about that? I didn't even feel the need to explain away every single pic.....this may be a new trend for me, but don't hold your breath on that one! I am so glad you stopped by, and I'm even more glad to have some Christmas posts to share. It's certainly better, and more fun, than health-updates.....just so you know, I'm doing fine and have only 5 more chemos to go!
I'm so excited to join a few parties and see how everyone is "decking the halls" this year! Have a great week and come back any time.
Warm Hugs,

Hi Carol - You certainly have been busy. I love all your decorations! My decorating is a lot of stuff I've had for a long time that have a story or a memory attached to it. I have added a few new things here and there through the years. Not a theme tree person at all and oh yes, I also love color!
ReplyDeleteJust read your health up-date. You must be counting the days to have chemo behind you. You're almost there...:-)
Take care
Jeannette

ReplyDeleteIt's all so pretty! As far as I'm concerned, you can't ever have too many bowls filled with ornaments! It's always a classic look that I adore. :) I like when people show the daytime and nighttime shots like you did. There's just something so calming about twinkling Christmas lights at night. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Carol,
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing your home all decorated for Christmas, my favorite time of year! All of your touches are just beautiful, I love it all! And the night shots are beautiful!
Have a wonderful rest of your week!
Hugs, Kimberley
Very pretty! I agree, no buying all new either, using what I have.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing at AMAZE ME MONDAY!
Blessings,
Cindy
I love it all, Carol! Eclectic, colorful, whimsical, old, new, it's all just perfect! It warms my heart to know you have felt well enough to accomplish so much this season! You are a true inspiration!!! Bless you, Cindy xoxo
ReplyDeleteYour entry and dinning room looks so beautiful, Carol! I just love all your treasures. I also have ornaments that I bought over 30 years ago and still use every Christmas. My Christmas decor will be very simple this year. Nothing new since I am leaving for Spain next week and I don't have time to make or buy anything new. Can't wait to see the rest of your home! xxx Maria
ReplyDeleteYour home looks so festive, warm and in inviting!! Like you...eclectic, color, and the more the better...works for me!

Snowmen, white pitchers, cute little winter houses... I love all your vignettes. It doesn't look like you have been napping to me.
ReplyDeleteCarol your home is gorgeous for Christmas. Love your table display with the white roosters in your dining room. Your entry is lovely and so welcoming. Have a Blessed Sunday. xo
ReplyDeleteYou are working too hard girly...and it is all lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteSince I am a "more is more, red is better, if it's too much it's just right" person, I LOVE your décor!!!
Good to hear that you are surviving your treatments with your lovely sense of humor intact.
Blessings to you,
J
