Fall Has Arrived in the Heart of Our Home!

Hey everyone!  Of course y'all know which rooms I'm talking about, right?  You guessed it, the kitchen and breakfast rooms.  I've actually had this finished for awhile, but I just kept tweaking and tweaking.  That will probably continue, but I couldn't wait any longer.  I also want to mention that nothing new was purchased for any of these vignettes -- just shopped my stash!  You know the drill, grab a beverage and get comfy -- plenty of pictures!

As you enter my kitchen, this area is just to the right of the doorway.

It's always a favorite spot to do some seasonal decorating.

I do truly love my kitchen-breakfast room, but it is a working space and rarely looks this tidy!

View from the family room.

The desk-buffet is constantly changing.

I'm so glad I started collecting these large apothecary jars several years ago.  They make anything inside of them look great -- love the faux candle.

The coffee station changes with the season.  The large tray has been on top of the cabinets for two years now, and I brought it down to serve here.  It's big and the perfect color for Fall.  I'm also using a glass pumpkin (we all have one of those, right?) to hold my coffee mix.

I don't care for the process of doing it, but I do love having the tops of my cabinets
decorated for the season.

Wow, cannot believe there are no finger prints on the fridge!

I always have to find a prominent place to display my son's cookbook -- he just makes me smile!

I just love my fun new Fall-Halloween apron that I whipped up from my fabric stash.

The old wooden box stayed but got a Fall-look with some fig branches & a few dried leaves.  I added the wire rooster, giving him a candle ring as a wreath for his neck, and the colorful Biscotti jar to complete this vignette.

This display over the fridge & message center is just about the same as it was last year, but
I like it!

These grapevine trees decorated the mantel last year, but I really like them here on top of the cabinets.  I'm already thinking they may stay for Christmas -- changing out the decorations, of course!

Someone is waving a greeting from behind my old chippy window!

I love having a fun centerpiece for the breakfast table.  This was super-easy.  I took an old wire pumpkin that already had some fall stuff attached, added a few more odds and ends, & glue-gunned the cute bright red rooster to the pumpkin stem.  The hot glue will hold it but will also release when I want to take it apart.

I always like having some kind of display on the kitchen island but want it to be easy to move since we  use the island all the time.  I simply lined this tool caddy with burlap and added an assortment of
things -- a faux candle, small container for our drink mixes, blue ball jar holding ice tea spoons & a little pumpkin with baby corn.

This is the only other display item on the island.  This was easy-peasy!  Took a chunky glass hurricane, put a big rubber band around it, & started tucking in the baby Indian corn.  Then I simply tied it with some raffia to hide the rubber band.  I just have it sitting on a cork trivet to make moving it easier without knocking off dried corn kernels!

I put this wreath together in just a few minutes yesterday, so it wasn't in some of the previous pics.  I wanted a wreath for this window, but I didn't want to buy anything, soooo........

I created it from "nothing," well almost nothing.  I'll share the deets in another post.

I'm so glad all the rest of you have joined the "Fall Frenzy!"  It is so much fun seeing all the decor going up and all the wonderful ideas that are being shared.  Bloggers are just the best.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. Beautiful, Carol! I love that you decorated the tops of your cabinets (not fun to do, I agree, especially because it means a balancing act standing on the counters and praying nothing falls)! LOL The wreath over your sink is so pretty, and I love your coffee station, too! Happy Fall!

  5. Carol, you've been ready for quite a while now, but wow, your kitchen and breakfast area is already so INTO the season!! Love the apothecary jar details the most! Enjoyed looking at the pics since I don't decorate for Fall, just Halloween, just not much time I guess between these 2 seasons/holiday that by the time I finish with fall, I'll be putting up Halloween!! LOL! Just finished my Halloween too, will share it some time soon. Enjoy the season!

  9. Carol, Everything just looks perfect! I love the top of your cabinets. I have had two other houses with the space above the cabinet, and I have to admit, I never had them looking good. It was always a space I had trouble with, but yours looks wonderful. Thanks for stopping by, and your gracious comments.

    1. Thanks, Cindy! I made those last year. I have "BOO" letters to add a bit later & then "JOY" to add for Christmas. I've actually had that set out in a display ever since I made them. I didn't realize just how versatile they would be!

Garages aren't a fun place to be here in AZ right now! We were out working in our garage yesterday, getting some things pulled together for a neighborhood garage sale on Saturday. It was not pleasant!

  14. I love looking at all of your fall decor. We're still in the 90's (which I know is nothing compared to y'all) but I just can't get into fall when it's this hot. Not to mention we just got back from the beach. Kinda hard to switch from beach to fall.
