Signing Off For a Bit

Hey everyone!  Just popping in to let you know I'm taking a bit of a blogging vacay!  You know how sometimes you just reach that point when your mojo is lagging or other things in life need more of your attention.....well, a combo of those is where I'm at right now.  In this wonderful age of "electronic-heaven" and social media, I find it so beneficial to just "unplug" for awhile.

I've got some reading material that many of you have been talking about, and I'm really looking forward to reading this book.  I've been following Melissa for awhile now, and find her to be so upfront and honest about whatever she shares on her blog.

Love the Home You Have Book - The Inspired Room - Melissa Michaels

One last thing before I officially sign off -- there was a neighborhood Block Party on our street last night to help everyone get better acquainted.  It was so much fun!  We may or may not have been the "elders" at the party, but it didn't matter.  Adults were far out-numbered by kiddos, ranging in age from 15 down to 6 months (you'd better believe I got some snuggling with that one)!  Super-nice & very polite kiddos who kind of liked my contribution of these Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Brownies.  I made a triple batch, The Man & I each had one, and there were no leftovers.....now that is the best way to deal with Brownies!

Okay folks, not sure when I'll be returning, but I hope to be fully relaxed and re-charged when I do.  Don't have too much fun without me.....oh, okay, have a blast!

Some Easter Fun!

Hey everyone!  Hope y'all had a wonderful Easter weekend.  We had such a great time.  Some very good friends from Washington state spent the weekend with us, and some very good friends from Utah joined us for Easter day.  The three of us ladies all graduated high school together, so it was a "mini-reunion!"  We are all still married to our "originals," and all the hubbies get along really well, too.

I am so terrible about taking pictures during gatherings, so I made a point of taking a few of our table settings prior to our guests' arrival.  Hope you don't mind if I share them.

We don't often eat in our dining room, but I'd love to change that; so I set our Easter table with my sweet MIL's china and silverware.

My simple centerpiece until the food arrived.  I cut out some little bunny shapes, glued them together with a shish kabob skewer, & poked these little cuties into a couple of faux boxwood spheres & added a small white pompom bunny tail.

HERE is a post I did about this sweet china.

The toile runner, placemats & napkins were perfect.  I've had this set for years and got them from Tuesday Morning -- they were made by Waverly.

Even 65+ people need to channel their inner child sometimes, and what better way than with bunnies hopping around & egg cups filled with jelly beans & Cadbury Eggs......yummy!

I found the little bunny cards on a free download HERE.

Our menu was Spiral Cut Ham from Costco (best we've ever had), rustic mashed potatoes, sweet baby green peas, rolls and THIS Super Lemon Bundt Cake.  It was all so delicious!

Our Washington friends arrived on Saturday afternoon, so I had a simple meal planned -- Lasagne, fresh baby greens salad, Italian bread &  Blueberry Crumble in mason jars -- which required a simple table setting.

Aren't these cute?  I got the recipe HERE, but I left out the mint and topped them with Cool Whip.

I bought the tablerunners & cute striped napkins from World Market on sale.

The napkins & tablerunners work so well with all of my Fiestaware colors.
I'll be using these a lot!

And finally, some lovelies from TJ's.

I hope all of you had a great weekend and are getting your first week in April off to
a grand start!
