Hey, everyone! Wow, I cannot believe we are already way into September! I got my boys (The Man & our son) off on their adventure to Peru today. I'm so excited for them and know they are going to have such a great time. I sent along my Point & Shoot Nikon and hope they bring back some wonderful pictures -- I'll certainly share some of those in the future. Anyway, while the cats away, the mouse will play in her house! Today I want to share my dining room all decked out in all her Faux Fallishness!
Those are drop cloth pumpkins that you see up there. I made those last year.
Just some book pages in hurricanes add a bit more interest.
I was the lucky receiver of more of my sweet MIL's teacups and saucers,
given to me on our summer trip.
Presto-chango.......Kirklands had a super-good sale on these buffet lamps! So what do you think?
Old lamps or........
New lamps?
I don't know what it is about this little vignette, but I'm just loving it!
Maybe it's this "oh so proud" Mr. Roo!
I may change out the burlap runner for something else.....hmmmm?
Okay, I'm not one to wait, so here is my newly tweaked tablescape. I used a burlap runner that I added a pleated ruffle to, plus my pashmina with lovely Fall colors.
Ahhh......she knows those aren't real!

Wow, it's all so festive! I like how you call it a fantasy, haha. It's just cooling off where I am, but definitely still quite warm. It gets cold here eventually, though. I really like the dropcloth pumpkins, those are so different. Your cat is really pretty, I'm not sure if I've seen her before? She kind of has a fall color to her. :)
ReplyDeleteCarol you are too funny! It is still rather warm here and though I have brought out the fall bins I just keep staring at them. Love your fall touches!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely love the new lamps! I am with you Carol, while I do like all of your beautiful fall touches, I love that little rooster vignette too! I've been doing a little "faux fallishness" myself, because we are no where near cold here either. LOL! Hope your hubby has a wonderful trip to Peru!
ReplyDeleteI love the small doses Carol, and the rooster vignette is my favorite too. I wonder if your boys will be surprised to come home to a totally different home! LOL! And yes, I'm digging those lamps. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's all very pretty! Love the idea to tie keys on the candle holders.
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Carol
I am a sucker for anything to do with roosters...LOVE it!! I also love those keys, what an interesting addition. When we bought our house, we found a chain full of old skeleton keys in the basement. They actually open the bedroom and bathroom doors! We haven't had to use them since my kids were toddlers, so they hang as decoration in my kitchen, they are a sentimental favorite! :)
ReplyDeleteYour fall touches look wonderful! It looks like you've had some fun while the men are away. I love the new buffet lamps!
ReplyDeleteLOVE, LOVE, LOVE the roo vignette, first of all, and I LOVE the new lamps also. That is the cutest picture of the kitty smelling the fall foliage. You need to have that framed and use it in next years decor. You should have hopped on a plane and flew to Ms to stay with me while hubby was gone. I would feed you well.
ReplyDeleteYou really know how to bring on the season! Your place looks fantastic, like a magazine photo shoot! I LOVE your lamps! Is Kirkland a store or is that Costco's brand on those lamps?
ReplyDeleteI love your decor, Carol. You do such a great job! I love Kirklands, but I'm trying to avoid temptation, so I haven't made it there yet, but I'm seeing so many cute things, so I may just have to swing by! :)
ReplyDeleteWe're visiting my daughter Alexandra for her birthday and yes, it's the middle of September 2014...amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteYour Fall de décor is gorgeous, I love every vignette, but specially love the dishes with the gray and the gray and white pumpkins next to them.
Wow, your boys are so close to e in just Peru. How wonderful, they will have a great time, I'm sure.
Thanks for your lovely visit sweetie.
Have a lovely week.
FABBY
Love your little drop cloth pumpkins! I actually like both lamps. Kirklands has such good sales going on now. They keep tempting me with all their coupons. :) Hope your hubby and son have a safe, fun trip!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so pretty. I love that hutch in your dining room, and you've decorated it beautifully. Both sets of lamps look great. Have fun playing while the cat's away! laurie
ReplyDeleteSooo pretty, Carol! You always have the best ideas! Love the drop cloth pumpkins. I have to tell you, both lamps look pretty. Tough choice!
ReplyDeleteCarol, your home looks so pretty and inviting decked for fall. I love every single thing you did. Your vignettes are so beautiful. LOVE the chandelier. :) xo, Liz
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I love the welcome vignette too. I'm really drawn to that white ceramic/whatever material it is.
