Hey everyone! Happy August 1st -- can you believe it? We just got back from a fun little trip to Disneyland (or Mickey-land according to our little granddaughter) with our son, dil, and Little Miss and Littlest Miss. It was the Littles first time, so The Man & I were in 7th heaven to be able to share that experience. I didn't take too many pictures, because I was just having fun experiencing the kiddos' excitement. It was quite warm (but not as warm as we've been having in AZ), and there were tons of people; but we had a great time. Here are a few "happiest place on earth" pics!
We stayed at The Crowne Plaza Hotel & Resort.
We were on the top floor, so it was very quiet.
This is the pool, but we weren't there to play in the pool. We had "Mickey-stuff" to do!
Met up with our son, dil and "The Littles" just outside the gate at noon. This was the first time "Disney" experience for Little Miss and Littlest Miss!
Dumbo was their first ride and Nana was trying to take pictures -- not too easy to get a pic of that elephant and passengers flying around in a circle, going up and down. This Dumbo was safely anchored and ready for photo opts!
It was REALLY crowded and the lines were pretty long, but Flynn and Avery were so good and didn't fuss at all.
Daddy and Grampa took Flynn on the Matterhorn Ride (she loved it) and Ally and I strolled around with Avery until she fell asleep, then we found a bench, a tree, and had a rest, too. We had to wake Avery after a "nuclear power nap" to go on another ride. It takes her a few minutes to wake up -- kind of like her Nana!
She's thinking "this ride better be good!"
What could be better than "It's A Small World" -- really, anything?
Flynn was trying to take it all in & wanted to go again, but the line was just too long. We went to Peter Pan's Flight instead!
One of the workers just asked if we would like to have a family
pic -- how nice!
Engrossed in watching the 2013 Disneyland All-American College Band -- they were really good, but I couldn't get a good photo of them.
Somebody needed some "ears!"
Princess Ears and Minnie Ears! These smiles were still going strong at 11:30pm! Shortly after this, the "Elders" took off to catch their hotel shuttle and the "Youngsters" headed for their hotel. Both kiddos were asleep in the stroller long before they
they got to their resort.
It was such a wonderful experience, and The Man and I are so grateful for having been able to share this special event with
our son and his family.
Thanks everyone for letting me be a typical Nana and share all this "fun" with all of you! I'll be back next week with a home decor post -- probably!
I'm a Disney Fanatic so I am super excited and happy for you to share this experience with your grand kids! Truly a place where dreams come true Carol, next time, try the more comfortable way of seeing Disney and go on their cruise! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Vel! Since we are only 5 hours from Disneyland, it's a much more budget-friendly thing to do for us. Our son had to be over there anyway checking on the restaurants and working on some new menu items, so it just all fell into place.
DeleteSuch special memories. There really is no place as magical as Disney!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for visiting, Amanda! It's an especially happy place with little ones!
DeleteHow nice that you got to experience this with the grands! The first time we went to Disney, we took my mom and step dad with us. It was such a memorable trip for all of us. I loved seeing your Instagram pics of the trip too! Such a lovely family! Have a great weekend!
