All Through the House.....

Hey everyone!  I hope y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving;  and if you did any Black Friday shopping, "bless your heart!"  It was absolute craziness out there -- fun to see but not to participate in.  I spent my holiday weekend doing a "wrap" on my Christmas decorating.  I think it took me twice as long this year as ever before (good thing I started way early), but I am very pleased with the outcome.  I took a ton of photos last night with all the lights, but I will be breaking it down and trying hard not to overload you with pics -- HA!  Today I will be sharing some glimpses of our foyer and sitting-dining rooms.  Hope you enjoy!

Welcome!

My "Family" tree is making another appearance but in a different form.  More details about this later.

I made the snowflakes.  More to come on this project.

The "Star" of the room!

I need to get some presents wrapped & placed under the tree so Abby will stop playing under
this skirt.  If you want to see how I made this last year, go HERE.

I really love the look of the bleached bottle brush trees that I did a couple of weeks ago.

More of my snowflakes.

I normally have a lot of red Christmas items displayed in my hutch, but I wanted to keep my treasured china (belonged to my MIL) displayed, so I toned it down quite a bit.

Our nativity set was a major purchase for our second Christmas, some forty-three years ago!

I love decorating the top of the hutch.  The cream-colored trees are made with drop cloth, and I will share how I did that in a later post.

I made this wreath a couple of years ago, did some tweaking last year, but didn't feel the need
to change any part of it this go around.

Top of the bar armoire.

I love switching out pillow covers.

Well, that is a wrap for this post.  I am so happy to be finished, well, except for "tweaking!"  I have lots more to share and cannot wait to see everyone else's Christmas decorating.  Have a great week, and please stop in any time for cocoa and cookies!

  2. It looks beautiful, Carol! I love those snowflakes...can't wait for that tutorial. :) The bleached bottle brush trees are just lovely! I didn't know they could be bleached. How neat! Holly won't leave my tree skirts alone either. I finally had to put one up because she was driving me mad with it. LOL!

  8. It looks live you were truly busy. How nice it must be to have it all done and now you can sit back and enjoy it all. I can only seem to find the energy to bring down one or two things every day from the attic. Going much simpler this year. Your home looks lovely and so welcoming. Enjoy the fruits of your labor.

  11. Beautiful! I love the Family tree, I can't wait to hear the details on what you have done with it. And of course there is the star of the living room - that is a beautiful tree! The cloches are really lovely with the bleached bottle brush trees. I have to dig around in my boxes in storage. I should have at least a hundred of those trees in a box from my old Christmas village days. I have been thinking of bleaching a few out and dying them pink. I don't know why I want pink, but I want pink trees!

  12. It all looks so pretty, Carol. You know my favorite thing, don't you? I LOVE that Nativity scene! My Nativity set was not a major purchase--it was a fairly inexpensive porcelain set. But it's now 20 years old, so it's more valuable with every passing year! :)

  13. Everything looks sooo good! I still have just a couple of things to do at my house with my decorating. For some reason I always get the majority done & then 2 weeks later finish the few things that would take just a few hours to do.
