Celebrating Summer....Hmmmm...Not So Much!

Hey, everyone!  Can't believe we are closing in on the end of July, can you?  That may be a sad thing to some of you, but I'm truly giggling over it.  While most of you are enjoy patios, decks, and backyards that are all green and lush with flowers abloom all over, we in the AZ desert are sequestered inside peeking through the sun screened windows at all the dry and crispy things that once were things of beauty......sigh.

Our outdoor days will come again;  we will move the patio furniture out of storage, fill pots with pretty blooms, fold and put away the windshield cover & stop carrying an
oven-mitt in our purses!  Yep, now is the time of year that "Zonies" start counting down the days weeks until we can once again eat meals on the patio and do some star-gazing over a glass of wine.  Until then, you might find me roaming the aisles of Hob Lob, soaking in some Fall colors!

Hmmm......
 Pumpkin Pie candle,
                       anyone?

  1. Oh hi, sweet lady. I was just telling my walking buddy (whose hubby is in Arizona) that I am sick of summer time! I hear it is tough there, but this Ms humidity will just kill ya. Anyhoo, you know fall is my favorite season of all!! Let me grab my purse, and I will run to Hobby Lobby with you :)

  2. I cannot believe it's almost August! I'm all over the place with weather. I don't like to be hot but I do like the pool. I don't like to be cold but I like running when it's not stifling. If we had more of a fall, I'd like that but we generally go from like 100 to 60.

  4. Oh, it's hot here in Indiana too - no patio for us! The grass is dying... But I know what you mean. Our son's in laws from Arizona stay at a lake house in New York during this time of the year... Thanks for visiting me today! Wishing you an enjoyable weekend - maybe you found something fun to do from Hob Lob. :)

  5. Here, here! I'm literally counting down the days until summer is over and I can crack open a window again. Unfortunately, where I live in Southern California, our summer doesn't end until October. So until then, I'll crank up the AC and enjoy Hobby Lobby with you. Have a great weekend!

  7. With almost 7 months of cold weather in New York, three months of summer is a novelty for us until this year. The unbearable heat wave sweeping through the entire state with little or no rain makes me thankful of winter:) I can't begin to imagine how Arizona heat might be like! When the winter months hit I always tell my husband we must retire in Arizona:) Hob Lob...my favorite store, with aisle after aisle of wonderful eye candy! Thanks for visiting me the other day! Happy weekend!hugs,Poppy

  9. I feel your pain. I'm so tired of summer. I still love that you call it Hob Lob. I was there about a week ago and I couldn't believe the fall stuff. They even had some Christmas stuff in mine! I love Christmas as much as anybody but give it a rest...LOL.

  11. Glad I'm not the only one who dislikes summer. I spent a few days at a Hilton water park hotel one summer in Phoenix about 10 years ago. Couldn't believe it was 104 at 10:00 a.m. So Cal weather is nuts - 98 one day and 75 the next. 90 during the day, 50 at night. Most of our buildings are older and the air conditioning isn't great-grocery stores offer the most relief! We will have weeks in the nineties through October, fire warnings, and then a blessed October rain-usually near Halloween will kick off Fall. There will be Fall leaves on the trees through mid-January!
